Supermicro hat uns auf ein Problem mit BIOS-Updates auf Mainboards vom Typ X8SIL-F hingewiesen. Bei einem Update von 1.0a auf 1.0c kann es passieren, dass der Bootblock im BIOS gel\u00f6scht wird, aber das anschlie\u00dfende Update fehlschl\u00e4gt. Sollte dies eintreten, hilft nur ein Austausch des BIOS-Chips.<\/p>\n

Ob ein Board von diesem Problem betroffen ist, l\u00e4sst sich im Vorfeld nicht sagen. Wir m\u00f6chten Sie daher bitten, nur ein Update durchzuf\u00fchren, wenn ein Problem vorliegt, welches sich nur durch ein Update l\u00f6sen l\u00e4sst.<\/p>\n

Bitte kontaktieren Sie vorher unseren Support, wenn derzeit BIOS-Revision 1.0a im Einsatz ist.
Sollte ab Werk bereits BIOS-Revision 1.0b geflasht sein, kann dieses Problem nicht<\/strong> mehr auftreten! D.h. ein BIOS-Update kann dann bedenkenlos durchgef\u00fchrt werden.<\/p>\n

Im folgenden finden Sie die changelogs der Revisions 1.0b\/1.0c:<\/p>\n

  1. Update Adaptec RAID firmware<\/li>\n
  2. Modify BIOS default setting for \u201cFan Speed Control Modes\u201d from \u201cDisabled\u201d to \u201cBalanced\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Update CPU microcode, ME Ignition and MRC code<\/li>\n
  4. Modify BIOS default setting for legacy floppy drive from \u201cEnabled\u201d to \u201cDisabled\u201d. Please check user\u2019s manual for details.<\/li>\n
  5. Workaround to prevent legacy floppy disk access fail in Windows while CPU is in C6 state.<\/li>\n
  6. Implement iSCSI BOOT feature support. (ONLY work with PCB 1.02)<\/li>\n
  7. Fix some of the power supplies may not be detected, such as through Super Doctor and IPMI. (ONLY work with PCB 1.02)<\/li>\n
  8. Implement EUP Support feature (ONLY on Motherboard PCB Rev 1.02)<\/li>\n
  9. Add beep code or warning message on unsupported CPU and memory combination.<\/li>\n
  10. Implement BIOS feature to disable memory ECC log in BIOS setup menu.<\/li>\n
  11. Remove setup menu available memory size<\/li>\n
  12. Fix the overheat LED will be on around 30 seconds during the system P.O.S.T. initialization.<\/li>\n
  13. Fix USB Keyboard can\u2019t be detected issue if PS\/2 keyboard is not connected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2. Fix Tape Drive can\u2019t be detected in Intel AHCI or RAID mode.<\/li>\n

    4. Correct channel number order and IPMI LAN MAC address in BIOS setup menu \u201cIPMI Configuration \u2013 Set LAN Configuration\u201d.<\/li>\n
