Ein All in One PC ist ein Computer, bei dem Rechner und Monitor in einem Gehäuse verbaut sind. Statt Tower, Display und Verkabelung steht nur ein Gerät auf dem Schreibtisch, das über ein einziges Netzkabel angeschlossen wird. Im Unternehmenseinsatz spart das Stellfläche und reduziert den Aufwand bei Aufbau, Umzug und Wartung. Tastatur und Maus lassen sich kabelgebunden oder per Funk anbinden.
All in One PCs eignen sich überall dort, wo wenig Platz zur Verfügung steht oder der Arbeitsplatz aufgeräumt wirken soll: Empfang und Rezeption, Beratungsplätze, Verwaltung, Schulungsräume, Arztpraxen und Kanzleien. Auch für Arbeitsplätze, die häufig umgestellt werden oder von wechselnden Personen genutzt werden, sind sie eine praktische Lösung, weil nur ein Gerät bewegt und angeschlossen werden muss.
Der Unterschied liegt in der Bauform: Beim All in One PC sitzt die komplette Technik hinter dem Display, beim Desktop-PC in einem separaten Gehäuse. Ein All in One PC braucht dadurch weniger Platz und weniger Kabel. Ein klassischer Desktop-PC bietet dafür mehr Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten, etwa für zusätzliche Laufwerke oder dedizierte Grafikkarten. Für typische Büroarbeit, Fachanwendungen und Videokonferenzen ist die Leistung beider Bauformen vergleichbar.
Die exone All in One PCs sind mit 23,8 Zoll und 27 Zoll erhältlich. 23,8 Zoll ist die gängige Größe für Standardarbeitsplätze in Verwaltung und Empfang. 27 Zoll bietet mehr Arbeitsfläche und eignet sich für Aufgaben, bei denen mehrere Fenster gleichzeitig sichtbar sein sollen, etwa in Buchhaltung, Planung oder Sachbearbeitung.
Ein Touch-Display lohnt sich, wenn der PC von wechselnden Personen bedient wird oder Eingaben schnell und direkt erfolgen sollen – zum Beispiel an Info- und Empfangstresen, in Schulungsräumen, bei Kiosk-Anwendungen oder in der Fertigung. Für klassische Büroarbeit mit Tastatur und Maus genügt ein Non-Touch-Display, das in der Anschaffung günstiger ist.
Ein All in One PC arbeitet eigenständig mit lokal installiertem Betriebssystem und lokalem Speicher. Ein Thin Client AIO greift dagegen auf zentrale Server oder virtuelle Desktops zu und wird zentral verwaltet. Beide Varianten sind bei exone in derselben Bauform verfügbar: die Business-Modelle mit Windows 11 Pro, die Thin-Client-Modelle mit vorinstalliertem IGEL OS.
